NBRC's Continuing Competency Program (CCP)FMES offers the NBRC's Continuing Competency renewal courses to keep you in compliance. All of our courses are approved for the NBRC RT credential. We also offer credits for the neonatal/pediatric/PFT subjects. How do I submit the CEU information to the NBRC? Continuing education (CE) information must be submitted online. Do not submit paper documents. Once you have logged in to www.nbrc.org from the 'Credentialed Practitioners' page and then the 'Credentialed Practitioners' link, select the ‘Continuing Competency Program (CCP)’ link. You will be asked to confirm that your credentialing information is correct, then enter information for each CE course completed. While you will be able to enter your CE course records at anytime, you can only ‘Recertify Now’ during the last six months before your expiration date. What CE courses will the NBRC accept toward compliance with the Continuing Competency Program (CCP)? The NBRC will accept any course that is accepted by your state licensing board for purposes of respiratory care licensure. If your state licensing board has no requirements, the NBRC will accept any course approved by the AARC. What kind of CEUs do I need for my credential? The only credentials that must meet the Continuing Competency Program (CCP) requirements are those earned as of July 1, 2002. Depending upon how many credentials you hold, there are several combinations of subjects you may need to submit. The grid shown below should provide specific information for all credential combinations. NBRC credentials that are subject to the Continuing Competency Program (CCP) were issued after July 1, 2002. Credentials have to be renewed every 5 years.
Annual renewal of your NBRC ($25.00) status is based on calendar year (January 1 - December 31). Credentialed practitioners should renew their active status by December 31 each year. This expiration is separate from your credential expiration.
